Wrestler of the Month feature match UCW #454: Axel vs Kenny Star It was a tough call which match to feature of Axel's. I mean, there's so many, and even that many more I still have never checked out. After debating it for quite a while, I decided to go with one of his matches against Kenny Star. Axel and Kenny have battled several times, and this was one of my favorites.   The match opens with Kenny and Axel in the iconic UCW garage, where many of my UCW favorites took place. I loved their ring matches, but the garage setting just had something a little more "underground" to it and felt more intimate. What is supposed to be a training session between the two is interrupted by Nero, who rushes in thinking he's about ref a title match between Axel and Kenny. Tedros vs Scrappy - Weekend Wrestling Tedros is quite the wrestler and has a character that really stands out. He has become a favorite of mine at Weekend Wrestling since his impressive debut against Roger Atlas at the end of last year (December 31st to be exact, so we could call it the very beginning of 2023 as well) where he put the mountain of meat out cold in one of the hottest finishes from WW this year. He's had great matches against Gabe and Tristan Mounts following that, and the "Friendliest guy at Weekend Wrestling" currently remains undefeated. If there is someone that could end the winning streak of a fellow wrestler, Scrappy is a top choice. He's seen it all, knows all the tricks in the book, and has taken down opponents of all shapes, sizes, and skill sets.   Rich King vs Blake - UK Wrestling Hub When UK Wrestling Hub first advertised this match there was no question I was going to check it out. Regardless of their outside experience, it's always great to see a solid debut from two hot new underground rookies going at the in the ring. I'm happy to report that Rich and Blake did not disappoint!   Rich and Blake are both ready to go at it the before the match even starts, and as soon as the bell rings, it's on and it's DIRTY! The first full minute in and the ball clawing and face to crotch pins are already starting. These boys aren't shy. I'd be surprised if the two haven't met before outside of UKWH. This feels like a grudge match, and a fuckin' hot one. In the match description, UKWH bills this as a pro wrestler vs MMA champ ring battle. Blake has a really awesome pro look to him.   So I never got around to sharing a Wrestler of the Month here back in August so Axel will be doubling up for both months. Axel needs no introduction. From the humble beginnings of UCW and in turn his underground career, he has become a legend. The guy has wrestled just about everywhere and has put on some of the most memorable matches from the last decade. In the ring, on the mats, in the oil pit, or in the Hero Hunks lair...Axel can entertain the tastes of any and all combat kink fans. My favorites were always Axel's matches from UCW, and I'll be highlighting one of those here in the next week or so. We all have our fingers crossed that a buyer will come along and take over UCW and at the very least maintain their current catalog. It'd be a real shame to lose so many iconic matches featuring Axel and many of our other favorites.
