Brody Merritt vs Scrappy - Weekend Wrestling

Image
Brody Merritt vs Scrappy - Weekend Wrestling I took a break from the blog for a while. No reason in particular, just wasn't in the mood to write. When I noticed Weekend Wrestling's latest release, I knew it'd be the perfect match to break me out of my mid-winter hibernation! Uh oh. Looks like Scrappy has gotten all caught up in some type of cult, and seems to be its apparent leader. I'm not sure who the two in the blue and red are. The brief glimpse of a calf tattoo on the cultist in blue wasn't much to go off of. We will see if these two run any interference later in the match.  Pre-match, good guy Brody does his best to talk Scrappy out of his newfound malevolent ways...but it doesn't go so well and Brody, through a defeat, may become Scrappy's newest follower 😮 Although resilient, Brody has been the fall guy a vast majority of his time spent in the Weekend Wrestling ring. If he wants to shake his reputation of being the rosters resident hunky jobber, a...

Beastyboy vs Scrappy - WatchFighters

Image
Beastyboy vs Scrappy - WatchFighters Beasty and Scrappy get pumped up and battle in a hot and sweaty mat room brawl! Beastyboy packed up his ego and hit the States a few months ago and issued a challenge to Scrappy. Scrappy is calm and collected and plans on adding Beasty to his wall of defeated cocky muscle boys. I reviewed Beastyboy's match against Tripp Evans which was great, but that was more play. So I'm looking forward to really seeing him in action in this one. After a quick pump, the guys strip down and hit the mats. Scrappy is intent on teaching the brit punk a lesson, and it's not long before this goes from grappling to a no holds barred style contest with a little something for wrestling kinksters of any flavor. Dirty tactics, gut and ball bashing, and foreign objects highlight 2 thirds of the match. The match comes to an end as one of these guys takes a nap on the mats....but all that wrestling really got the victor working up a sweat, so it's time to take...

Tedros vs Scrappy - Weekend Wrestling

Image
Tedros sits down with Scrappy for an in-ring yoga class gone awry in Weekend Wrestling's latest release. Tedros vs Scrappy - Weekend Wrestling Tedros is quite the wrestler and has a character that really stands out. He has become a favorite of mine at Weekend Wrestling since his impressive debut against Roger Atlas at the end of last year (December 31st to be exact, so we could call it the very beginning of 2023 as well) where he put the mountain of meat out cold in one of the hottest finishes from WW this year. He's had great matches against Gabe and Tristan Mounts following that, and the "Friendliest guy at Weekend Wrestling" currently remains undefeated. If there is someone that could end the winning streak of a fellow wrestler, Scrappy is a top choice. He's seen it all, knows all the tricks in the book, and has taken down opponents of all shapes, sizes, and skill sets. His current gimmick as a peace and love guru sets the stage for this match, but even Sc...

Scrappy vs Silas - Thunders Arena

Image
Wrestler of the Month feature match Mat Rats #170: Scrappy vs Silas - Thunders Arena I figured these two would meet on the mats eventually and I had to jump on this match as soon as I saw it was released. Scrappy has been around forever and is the perfect opponent for hot and cocky Silas who has plenty of victories under his belt. There's a real shot for Scrappy to finally humble him back to reality. The two meet up in the Thunders Arena living room with Silas taking a verbal jab at Scrappy, but then he starts admiring Scrappy's build. Who wouldn't? It's impressive! Silas calls Scrappy "the new guy" and thinks he's here to teach him how to wrestle. While Scrappy is still busy flexing, Silas grabs him and lifts him into a tight bearhug and the match begins. These two are both incredible at what they do, and this mat battle is no different. No body parts are off limits to be targeted, as the guys twist and contort each other in all of your favorite submiss...

KSW Wrestler of the Month: Scrappy

Image
For the month of March, I decided to give the Wrestler of the Month honors to Scrappy! Much like February's WOTM (Gabe Steel) Scrappy has wrestled with a lot of your (and my) favorite companies. If you check out any underground wrestling website, you are likely to find several matches featuring the jacked curly-topped grappling veteran.  I took some time to investigate, and it looks like his most recently filmed match came out at Weekend Wrestling a few weeks ago where he faces party boy newcomer Riff Simmons. I really enjoyed that match quite a bit and will be sharing my thoughts about it sometime in the next few days. I can't say with 100% confidence where Scrappy debuted, but I believe it was with Thunders Arena back in 2018 against Frey. Frey vs Scrappy - Thunders Arena   I feel like he's been around longer than that, but I've also lost all sense of time over the last few years. A friend of mine asked me last night "You're going to be 36 this year righ...

Highlight Reel #2

Image
Procrastination has become a recurring theme of my blog 😅 Truth be told, I've been swamped between working far too much and also closing on a house. It's exciting, anxiety inducing, and time consuming. I just can't wait for the process to be over and to move in and start making it my own. Yes, there will be a space in the basement for wrestling lol. Anyways, enough about all that. You are here for hot guys grappling in trunks. Here's a look at 2 matches that stood out to me over the last month: Scrappy vs Joey McCoy - Weekend Wrestling

Pure Savagery! Savage Gabe Steel vs Scrappy The Trojan - Weekend Wrestling

Image
One of the things I love about Weekend Wrestling is that they have successfully integrated gimmicks for some of their wrestlers beyond the typical jobber/heel personalities. It helps establish just enough of an entertaining narrative without the need of a backstory. Its been one of the things that has helped WW distinguish themselves in an increasingly crowded underground wrestling world. I was cautiously optimistic when I had first blogged about them, but they seem to have found an all around great formula to keep fans interested and excited for more. "Savage" Gabe Steel vs Scrappy "The Trojan" - Weekend Wrestling     Before I took a dive into this match, I had texted Gabe "I hope you treated Scrappy just like you did Marcus Ryan" His response? "Worse" Wow. Well, for those of you who haven't had the pleasure of seeing Gabe's match with Marcus over at Muscleboy Wrestling, you can check out my review of that one here . He t...

New Jock On The Block: Scrappy vs Kenny Star - Muscleboy Wrestling

Image
😁😁😁😁😁😁😁 Oh Kenny... Scrappy vs Kenny Star - Muscleboy Wrestling Most of you already know that Kenny, along with his adorable smile that just melts me inside, is one of my favorite underground wrestlers. This is my first time seeing a Scrappy match though (don't judge me!) and I'm anxious to see what he's all about. So needless to say I'm pretty excited for this one! We start off with a confident and cocky Kenny (my favorite Kenny) hyping himself up for the audience, flexing and showing off while proclaiming there a reason he's a "Star."   "Are those inflatable" Scrappy looks like the last person who's muscles you'd want to make a mockery of. I can't imagine this ending well for Kenny. His teasing and insults turn to grunts and groans of pain as Scrappy quickly begins to put Kenny in his place. Arrogance usually isn't the best choice when your the new jock on the block. Soon enough Kenn...
