I took a break from the blog for a while. No reason in particular, just wasn't in the mood to write. When I noticed Weekend Wrestling's latest release, I knew it'd be the perfect match to break me out of my mid-winter hibernation!



Uh oh. Looks like Scrappy has gotten all caught up in some type of cult, and seems to be its apparent leader. I'm not sure who the two in the blue and red are. The brief glimpse of a calf tattoo on the cultist in blue wasn't much to go off of. We will see if these two run any interference later in the match. 

Pre-match, good guy Brody does his best to talk Scrappy out of his newfound malevolent ways...but it doesn't go so well and Brody, through a defeat, may become Scrappy's newest follower 😮


Although resilient, Brody has been the fall guy a vast majority of his time spent in the Weekend Wrestling ring. If he wants to shake his reputation of being the rosters resident hunky jobber, a win over an underground icon like Scrappy would do just that. Add in the battle between good and evil, and a victory would really elevate him in the eyes of the rest of the guys at WW, and put a few of the more sinister personalities on notice.

 


Once Brody gets some momentum going, he almost never breaks his stride and dominates Scrappy in a seemingly never ending chain of submission after submission, demanding the cult leader give up and turn from his dark ways...but remember, there is evil afoot.


The match description on WW points out that fans will be torn between who they want to see victorious and that couldn't be more true. I'm team Brody because I know he can really kick some ass given the opportunity, and he does plenty of that in this battle...but is it enough to stop Scrappy?

When this match is finally over, the cult members come down to gather the KO'd body in the ring. Has Brody triumphed over evil? Or has Scrappy ordered them to carry away his newest recruit?

You'd assume Kal would think twice about showing up late again after the beating he took at the hands of Roger Atlas in his last match at WW for the same reason. Unfortunately for Kal, no lessons were learned as he scrambles down to the ring to meet up with Gabe who is already ready and waiting.
