Joey McCoy vs Nick Karras - Weekend Wrestling

Image
I knew I'd be reviewing this one when I first saw it teased on Weekend Wrestling's FB page. First though, some info about Joey. Many of you already know he recently underwent brain surgery for a tumor that was found. From what I've read, the surgery went well and he is currently at home healing up. Needless to say, Joey could definitely use our help. You can find a link to Joey's direct GoFundMe, along with a wish list link by clicking here Weekend Wrestling is also donating 50% of all rental and download purchases of Joey's matches for the month of December. Let's help him out the best we can and show him how much the underground wrestling community really cares about our guys! Joey McCoy vs Nick Karras - Weekend Wrestling Nick is in the ring doing some collegiate-style wrestling warm ups (it looks a little silly to be totally honest, but this is pro wrestling so who cares 😛) as he is interrupted by Weekend Wrestlings resident demon-possessed wrestler, Joey ...

Joey McCoy vs The Handsome Strangler - WeekendWrestling

Weekend Wrestling starts off the new year right by scoring yet another great indie talent, The Handsome Strangler. He makes his debut with WW against underground scrapper Joey McCoy! Joey McCoy vs The Handsome Strangler - WeekendWrestling If you have been following Weekend Wrestling closely enough over the past year, you will know that Joey has been paling around with resident "demon psychotherapist" Sid Shaw in an attempt to control his temper and evil soul sucking urges. Some more backstory from the WW website: "Since losing his temper means someone is going to lose their soul, Joey is hell bent on avoiding the complications that arise from a roster full of zombies. Sid suggested that he get some human friends and stop hanging around some of his underworldly buddies that keep him connected to his devilish and self-indulgent lifestyle. Joey connected the dots and thought it was a good time to get a tag partner. The newest member of the Weekend Wrestling Roster...

Joey McCoy vs Roger Atlas - Weekend Wrestling

Image
Anyone who reads the match card of Joey McCoy (5'2", 130 lbs) vs Roger Atlas (5'9", 220 lbs) can assume Joey wouldn't stand a chance against Roger. Thankfully for Joey, he'll have Sadistic Sid Shaw in his corner, or around somewhere at least. Can these two topple Weekend Wrestling's muscle mountain? Joey McCoy w/Sid Shaw vs Roger Atlas - WeekendWrestling Out of the mist, Sid and Joey slither into the ring like two demented serpents as a somewhat confused Roger looks on. He tells Sid to beat it and decides to take on Joey...but Sid warns that he won't be around to stop Joey if he "loses control." The pair share one last round of otherworldly growling sounds before Joey turns around to face muscle Mt. Atlas and is swept up into a bearhug to start the match. A menacing smoke begins to fill the ring, perhaps a foreboding sign of things to come, as Roger puts Sid's fiendish sidekick through several lift and carry sequences. All the while, Jo...

Highlight Reel #2

Image
Procrastination has become a recurring theme of my blog 😅 Truth be told, I've been swamped between working far too much and also closing on a house. It's exciting, anxiety inducing, and time consuming. I just can't wait for the process to be over and to move in and start making it my own. Yes, there will be a space in the basement for wrestling lol. Anyways, enough about all that. You are here for hot guys grappling in trunks. Here's a look at 2 matches that stood out to me over the last month: Scrappy vs Joey McCoy - Weekend Wrestling

The List #2

Image
A couple of days late, but I didn't want to skip it this week. I really enjoy doing these and it gives me and excuse to play with my photo editor 😊 Here is my list for the week of April 5th, 2021: I posted a story on Instagram asking my followers to give me a topic to list my top 3 on. It was opening to anything, and thankfully they were all wrestling related, giving me some good ideas for list topics down the road. This week I decided on my favorite Jobbers, both old school and new.         As always, I'd love to hear your thoughts! Who are some of your favorite jobbers?

Dax Carter vs Joey McCoy - Muscleboy Wrestling

Image
I've never had any particular affinity for big vs little matches, but Joey McCoy has become a favorite of mine at MBW and I know a lot of guys really love size mismatches in a fight. So, I decided to take a look at Dax Carter vs Joey McCoy from the latest Muscleboy catalog. Dax Carter vs Joey McCoy - Muscleboy Wrestling   Even Dax has a hard time believing that Joey here is who he is scheduled to wrestle with on Muscleboy's iconic orange mats. This has all the signs of a mismatch squash with poor Joey at the receiving end. Fortunately for him, Dax takes just a little bit too long talking to the camera about his confusion and Joey takes full advantage. I'm so glad this is happening. It seems like many of the matches I've been watching lately have been one sided battles. While I love a good squash, it was starting to drift into the "too much of a good thing" realm and also becoming a bit boring for me personally. Watching Joey pummel, twist, and bend a man wh...

Joey McCoy vs Nick Flex - Muscleboy Wrestling

Image
I've been wanting to check out both Joey and Nick since they have made their first appearances on MBW. Nick already has an impressive match listing and Joey is no stranger to the MBW mats either.  Joey McCoy vs Nick Flex - Muscleboy Wrestling "Just keeping it sanitary" I'm glad to see MBW is using good COVID disinfecting measures. Joey and Nick need to work on their social distancing, however 😆😜 Nick walks into the mat room looking for his opponent, but finds Joey cleaning the mats. It's not long before a cocky remark from Joey gets the big man angry!  "I'd probably kick your ass anyway" As one might expect, that comment didn't work out all that well for Joey. He's got a REALLY great build and he's definitely not a push over, so he has plenty of reason to be confident here, but Nick also has a great build...along with a 7 inch height advantage and an 80 pound weight advantage Believe it or not, this ...
