Wrestler of the Month: January 2025 - Tim World

Image
Back in 2023 I was doing a Wrestler of the Month feature, but shelved it for 2024. I've decided to bring it back! It's something relatively easy for me to write up and is a reason to keep me blogging more frequently. Tim was next on the list before I stopped doing this each month, so he is the featured wrestler for January. Based in the UK, T-World is arguably one of the most recognized European underground wrestlers. He's very skilled in the ring! Whether he's fighting it out at UKWH or FFE in the ring or if he's in a more intimate setting against fellow UK wrestlers like Sir Dark or MPJ, Tim knows how to give the audience a show win or lose. My favorite matches featuring T-World are his several battles with both AJ Nasty and Sir Dark, along with a collection of hot matches from UKWH. It's hard to pick a favorite!  Tim was kind enough to answer a couple of interview questions for me (and you!) as well: 1. What first made you decide you wanted to get into wrestl...

Knockout Awards 2024: Part 2

Image
Ok! Part 2 of my 2024 rundown is here. I'll keep this first part short and sweet. Here are the posts from 2024 that got the most hits: Brody Merritt vs Scrappy - Weekend Wrestling   Percy Austin vs Forrest Taylor - Wrestle Studs   T-World vs Rich King - UK Wrestling Hub Ernie Lofton vs Dante Vice - Weekend Wrestling VanGore vs Zach Reno - Weekend Wrestling I always like to see what posts from back in the day are still topping the list as well. I always find it interesting that so many of my posts from previous years still get more hits than others made in the current year, in this case knocking off some of the top 5 above several spots lower. Personally, I love going back and seeing what other bloggers have to say about matches from years prior. Sometimes it's nice to go back and check out what hot action we may have missed in the past. Here are the top 10 overall from 2024: #1 Brody Merritt vs Scrappy - Weekend Wrestling   #2 Percy Austin vs Forrest Taylor - Wrestle Stu...

Knockout Awards 2024: Part 1

It's very likely you watched a lot more wrestling this past year than I did. It was difficult to find the budget for a lot of the matches I wanted to catch, but I'd still like to share some of my favorites from 2024. While I'll still be splitting this years KO awards into 2 parts, both will be a lot shorter shorter than some of my previous year-in-review posts. All of the matches I featured this year on my blog stood out to me for a lot of different reasons. There were also a few I really wanted to highlight, but never managed to get around to for one reason or another. Here are a few of my favorites from this past year, in no particular order: Mat Rats 187: Jedrick vs Scorpion - Thunders Arena Brody Merritt vs Scrappy - Weekend Wrestling     Percy Austin vs Forrest Taylor - Wrestle Studs   NHB 259: Silas vs Meaty - Thunders Arena     I would have loved to have more than just these 4 make the list, but I'm looking forward to playing catch up and checking ...

Greatest Hits - Match 2: Zack Reno vs Tyson - UCW/UW

Image
Zack Reno vs Tyson The Hammer - UCW #679 Continuing my "Greatest Hits" series, next up we have one of the many matches between Zack Reno and Tyson during their lengthy rivalry at UCW (match 679 in this case.) I haven't watched all of them, but out of the matches I've seen between the two, this one is my favorite.  I really can't think of any better or consistent rivalries than the bad blood between Zack and Tyson that the now defunct UCW put on display for us. The in-ring chemistry between the two is undeniable, most notably in their ball-busting themed match which if I remember reading correctly, was one of UCW's highest selling matches at the time. I'm sure establishing a long-lasting competition between 2 underground guys can be difficult to arrange due to scheduling alone, so I'm not surprised it's so infrequently attempted. Great promission action, hot guys, and an even hotter finish help solidify this battle between Zack and Tyson as one of...
