Johnny comes to the rescue of fellow wrestler Cody Blayde, but is repaid with an ass kicking in this recent match from the boys at Weekend Wrestling.

This is only the 3rd Cody match I've featured here, but he's one of my favorites on the WW roster. He's a skilled pro wrestler who is cocky, energetic, and looks great in any gear you put him in. Same goes for Johnny, although we see him on the receiving end much more often than not. That's not a complaint either. He's an awesome jobber and has taken some very hot and memorable beatings! This match promises to be no different.



Whether or not Cody was actually stuck under the ring is up in the air, but if this was just a trap devised by Cody to take advantage of whichever wrestler responded would be no surprise. 

This is all mat action and Cody mercilessly bends and contorts his opponent like it's going out of style. We get to see Johnny stretched out with his beefy body on display while he screams in agony for all of our viewing pleasure. Woof!



I've used the phrase "a dime a dozen" to describe squash matches before, but I could watch Johnny job out in the ring all day, especially with Cody on the other end. He's having a blast breaking down Johnny and I'm loving every minute! 

To touch on that thought a little bit more, I've mentioned in previous reviews certain aspects of underground wrestling in general have become really stale to me. When you see the same rotation of 5 or 6 guys having what seems like the same match over and over again just in different colored trunks I lose interest quick. Thankfully there's a couple of the bigger companies that offer a good variety of fighters and matches, and Weekend is definitely one of them.

 



Any fan of submissions will enjoy this, but if you have a thing for leg locks and leg based submissions, Cody delivers. You'll really dig this one for sure! 

As an exhausted Johnny is down for the count, Cody might have one final trick up his sleeve. Johnny just might be the one that really needed rescuing this whole time.

  Gabe Steel vs Kal Handsome - Weekend Wrestling I wanted to get this up last week but fell a little behind, and it looks like I'm not alone in losing track of time... You'd assume Kal would think twice about showing up late again after the beating he took at the hands of Roger Atlas in his last match at WW for the same reason. Unfortunately for Kal, no lessons were learned as he scrambles down to the ring to meet up with Gabe who is already ready and waiting.
