What Makes Mikey Submit: Vol. 2
It hasn't been the best week.
As some of you know, something happened with my PC in the middle of last week. It wouldn't boot and I kept getting a "BCD file is missing" error. So, long story short I had to completely wipe both of my SSD's. Everything I had stored on there for my blog is gone.
Some good news is that everything that I had previously posted here on my blog is backed up through Google. However, all of my templates and everything I was working on for the next few KSW matches are gone. I don't know why it never occurred to me to back up things I hadn't posted yet or was working on, but needless to say I will be doing so going forward.
I lost a handful of matches as well. Everything I had from 88Wrestling, a few UCW matches, and 2 matches from Spotland that I didn't even get around to watching yet were also lost. I store my matches on a separate hard drive and never got around to moving these over to it, but thankfully a vast majority of my matches are still here.
As far as the future of KSW, I can't say for certain. Like I said I lost all of the templates and backgrounds and other things that I use for the stories and match graphics/photos, which were created over the last few years. It's going to take a lot of focus and more importantly time to make it all again from scratch. I don't really know if I have the motivation to do all of that. So I'll say it's not the end of KSW, but don't expect anything new anytime soon :/

Should have a review of the latest Hunks Wrestling match, Dark Jr. vs David Rashnikov posted by Wednesday. It's a slow paced but intense submission match that I really enjoyed.

Aw man, that sucks. Sorry to read about it. I don't even know what SSD's are but it sounds bad. We'll wait patiently for your return!
ReplyDeleteI don't know how accommodating folks are but do you think they'd re-activate your download link? I mean, you have a receipt for the purchase. Maybe 88W, UCW and Spotland would be empathetic?
Yeah, it sucks for sure but it definitely could have been worse and I do have myself partly to blame. SSD means solid state drive. It's a much smaller and faster (and more expensive) type of storage drive that you typically install your operating system on, and is good to keep games on for easier access and better overall game performance. Typically you want to put anything important on another much larger hard drive, keeping it independent from your SSD in case you have to do what I did. I decided to pay for extra cloud storage and have all of my favorite matches backed up and once I get around to restarting KSW will copy everything to the cloud.
