 VanGore vs Elite Eliot & Steve Mason - Weekend Wrestling

Eliot and Steve are very enthusiastic backstage about the tag-team match they are about to enter the ring for, but their enthusiasm (Eliot's in particular) vanishes as soon as they see the monster that awaits them.

VanGore is any indie wrestlers total nightmare. Billed at 7'0 and 305lbs, both Steve and Eliot look like proverbial ants when in the ring with the beast. Eliot suggests Steve get in the ring first...

"Oh we're gonna have some fun boys"


VanGore is the absolute definition of a heel, and he has fun the best way any heel knows how. Completely demolish your opponent. Even though we aren't even a full 5 minutes into the action, most would call the outright destruction of Steve Mason complete. The man is suffering, and suffering hard.



Eliot does his best to to verbally support his partner while watching in horror as Steve gets decimated, while also actively avoiding a tag in and bringing himself face to face with the monster heel at all costs. It's a smart move, but VanGore isn't even close to finished.

 


With both in the ring now, there is a flicker of hope the two MIGHT be able to turn things around and MAYBE topple the giant. Most of the time, VanGore eventually overpowers the two after a brief struggle. Other times, it seems like Steve and Eliot are on the verge of wearing down the beast.

 




While watching this, I'm feeling a good mix of thoughts and emotions similar to when I'm watching pro and indie promotions that I'm pretty invested in, and I often found my facial expressions throughout this match mirroring the ones Eliot was making in the beginning portions of the battle. I don't think I ever recall thinking to myself "Wow, sucks to be these two" before while watching an underground wrestling match. VanGore is an unstoppable force and is tearing Eliot and Steve to shreds no matter what they manage to throw at him.

I'm so turned on you have no idea.



Although you might have a general idea of how this match will end, I'm not going to share any spoilers. I will say that whether you have the monthly subscription, are renting, or purchasing to stream anytime, it's worth every penny. This was a stellar performance by all 3 guys, and VanGore's best match of the four he's participated in so far. When it comes to pro style, Weekend Wrestling continues to stand out from the crowd by consistently pumping out matches like this. I know I'll be re-watching this one several times in the future.

You'd assume Kal would think twice about showing up late again after the beating he took at the hands of Roger Atlas in his last match at WW for the same reason. Unfortunately for Kal, no lessons were learned as he scrambles down to the ring to meet up with Gabe who is already ready and waiting.
