So, I can say without a doubt that you will be seeing a lot of Silas on my blog this year. The cocky and confident heartthrob first caught my attention at the end of last month in his match on Thunders against Chris Rockway (you can read that review here)

Comparing him to other wrestlers in the present and recent past, Silas has quickly risen to the top tier of my favorites in a similar fashion that guys like Ty Shadow, Drew Harper, Blayne, and Dash Decker have.

I'm not sure why he never caught my attention before a few months ago on Thunders or elsewhere, but better late than never.

Silas rolls up on Tristan while he's in the middle of studying, surprised to see the underground wrestling legend already fully recovered from their last match after being "passed out pretty much the entire fight." Tristan insists the match never happened and is all part of a fantasy Silas has.

Silas won't lay off and it's clear he is just itching for that match to take place in this opening segment. He eventually heads off, but it won't be long before he's back. The match Silas conceived is about to become one (or maybe both) of these mens living nightmare.

Before I move on, I wanted to comment on how opening segments like this are always a gamble in the sense they run the risk of being cringey, awkward, and/or just plain bad and unnecessary. Not in this match. This flowed really well. Was it a little silly? Sure, but it was entertaining and set up the match perfectly, in my humble opinion. This isn't surprising with the decades of experience from Tristan paired here with Silas, who I'm very comfortable calling a natural at this point.

Silas makes what Tristan called his "alternative universe" a reality. A few choke outs later and Tristan wakes up at the table, stripped down to only his wrestling trunks.

Now, if you are a newer fan of underground wrestling, you might think Tristan is done for and will be playing jobber for the remainder of the match. The fans that have been around for a while know better. It will take more than a few sleeper holds to keep this chiseled 20 year veteran down.

When Tristan takes over, it's clear that Silas' imagined one-sided match has come to a crashing halt. Now stripped down to his own set of trunks (and he is absolutely PACKING) it could become either mans fever daydream.

This match is a sleeper hold lover's dream come true. Yeah, sleeper themed matches are a dime a dozen these days it seems, but Silas vs Tristan is hot as fuck and sets itself apart from the rest easily. Their gear leaves just enough to the imagination and both of these guys sell each consecutive sleeper sooooo incredibly well too.

HUGE props to Tristan as well. We've watched this man transform over the years from Aryx Quinn to the sculpted hunk that is Tristan Baldwin today. Always giving 110% for the audience in every match of his I've witnessed. His contribution to the scene is almost unmatched. If you asked me to pick one guy that represents underground wrestling, I wouldn't be able to decide. However, I can say without question that Tristian would be on that list, at the very least.

Regardless of the events or outcome in this encounter, I'd like to think Silas won't lose an ounce of his cocky overconfidence. If he keeps up his antics with some of the veterans and more experienced guys in the underground wrestling world he'll be, as Tristan says in the matches opening segment, crusin' for a brusin'

It's a brusin' that I can spin up multiple ways of going down. Goddamnit why are customs so expensive 😆
